The Brady Hunter Foundation joined forces with the Miami Foundation, Miami-Dade County, and Volunteer Clean Up to host an International Coastal Cleanup Day event at the Pelican Harbor Marina. In a bid to amplify the impact of this endeavor, the Brady Hunter Foundation championed the cause by sponsoring specialty license plates, a crucial component of our expansive educational campaign devoted to safeguarding Biscayne Bay.
As a testament to our commitment to environmental conservation, the Brady Hunter Foundation pledged to donate 50 cents for every pound of trash collected during this cleanup effort to the Sea Bird Station. The collective effort of volunteers and participants resulted in a staggering 22,233 pounds of garbage being collected across all 58 cleanup sites. With a generous donation rate of $0.50 per pound, we have every confidence that these funds will be utilized to their fullest potential.
The impact of this event extends far beyond quantifiable figures—it is truly immeasurable. Our joint initiative not only removed a substantial amount of waste from our coastal areas but also heightened awareness of the critical need to protect and preserve the natural beauty of Biscayne Bay.
